About Me: Professionally

Blending Art and Design

I’m Kayla — a Senior Product Designer with a huge love for digital art and game design. I grew up playing games from before my time — like Metroid on the Atari — which came out almost a decade before I was born! I had my hands on every console and every game I could. When I was thirteen, I saved enough money to buy my own PS3, and from there my obsession with game art, digital experiences, and storytelling really took off.

By day, I work at Microsoft designing user-friendly apps and AI tools, building sleek interfaces, and creating storyboards to connect with customers.

I’m focused on merging two worlds — using my UI/UX skills while keeping my creative edge sharp with game art, illustrating, and storytelling.

About Me: Personally

Keeping Busy…Very Busy

You can currently find me in Washington, D.C., where I live with my partner, two cats (one is orange, so I know how to handle insanity), and a dog. I’m always chasing a new skill or hobby — creating concept art, learning new design tools, running half marathons, skiing, kayaking, archery, reading… you name it.

But the most important thing to know is that my dream is to work at a video game studio abroad. It’s a goal I’m dedicated to, and I’m working hard to make it happen.
