3D MODELING

About

I modeled everything in the picture above from scratch. I created the Gameboy, Nintendo 64, Panasonic TV, Pokeball, Super Mario bricks, and lava lamp separately, then assembled them in an environment reminiscent of my childhood game room.

I started with the most difficult model first: the translucent purple Gameboy that I had growing up. It has a lot of subtle curves, fine details, textures, and decals.

The Gameboy also had a lot of parts I made separately, like the Pokemon game cartridge, buttons, and the Energizer batteries you can see inside.

I grew up with a Nintendo 64, so I knew I wanted to spend time recreating the console as well as its unique bumpy texture.

I rendered a few tests using the custom texture.

The rest of the objects in the scene were quick to model compared to the Nintendo consoles. Once I had my objects done, I set my scene and started working on one of the most important things: lighting.

I added the lighting in C4D, then used Photoshop to sharpen details on the TV.

The nostalgia made this one of my favorite 3D projects I’ve done, but it also became one of my favorites because I was able to see the progress I’ve made since first learning C4D in 2021.
